The title is silly, I know. But swanky boyfriend and I have a little inside joke that really goes hand in hand with this post. You see, the boy has one of those license plate holders that has bullet holes in it. Yes, I know. Me b
eing the funny and slightly immature girlfriend always pretends to “shoot” at his car while yelling, “pow pow”.
When I got invited by Galavantier through my Vegas bloggers group to go off-roading and shooting I immediately gestured to the boy that I’ve gotten the chance to actually go “pow pow”. Yes, I am a nerd. But I found a nerd that gets me. That’s all that matters.
So back to my post…Galavantier is a company that organizes various activities for tourists (and locals) both on and off the strip.
We started our Saturday morning by being whisked off in a stretch Hummer limo.
Pretty neat, right?? I don’t think I have ever got the chance to ride in a limo like this!
A big thanks to 24/7 limousines who provided us with such a sweet ride.
Once piled up in the limo (very comfortably I might add), we headed out to Boulder City to start our afternoon of fun.
Our first adventure was at Vore, Vegas Off Road Experience.
As stated on their site, “Roughrider trucks have More Horsepower, More Suspension travel and More Safety Features than any comparable race vehicle in the world”.
Check out the size of that tire!! It sure shows up my Volkswagen Jetta.
I got a bit nervous after peeking inside and seeing WAY too many buttons and gadgets. Thankfully, the staff was very hands on and explained everything we needed to know before driving.
Safety first! We put on our helmets and were ready to head out on the course!
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get any photos of us in action. But this picture from their site gives you an idea of just what I looked like out there…
Ok, I lied. This picture is the furthest from the truth. I actually got passed because I was driving too slow.
My ziplining bud from our last adventure, Terrisa, drove first then I followed by hopping in the driver’s seat for a measly 2 laps. Next time I hope I have a bit more guts to pick up the speed. It was such an adrenaline rush but I just couldn’t get over my fear. I am so glad that I got to try it though!!
Next up, was to give it a go at the shooting range. I have never once shot a gun so the idea was terrifying while at the same time really exciting to me.
But first, we needed to refuel. I couldn’t have been more happy when I spotted a bobby sandwich from the one and only Capriotti’s.
This sandwich is, hands down, my favorite. It’s Thanksgiving all wrapped up in a perfect sandwich. ![]()
With some water and food we were ready for the next part of our day, The Pro Gun Club. Check out all these guns!! I really don’t know much of anything about guns but they were so neat to look at. What I did know was that we were going to practice shooting with both shot and machine guns.
The shooting ranges were close to the off-roading course making this ideal for someone who wants to try out both in one day.
Bobby was just one of the staff who helped us out. I have to give him a big shout out cause he was exceptionally patient with me and my ongoing nerves.
He thoroughly reviewed the shot gun: safety, loading, unloading, shooting, etc.
The one thing I have to say about shot guns is that these babies are heavy. They make it look so easy but there is so much that goes into it.
Once we were set up and ear plugs in, we each took turns shooting at clay targets.
It’s hard to spot but you can see it on the left. I impressed myself by hitting TWO of them!
Here is Abby giving it a go!!
It was so much fun! I probably should have a more bad-ass look on my face.
The kick back was what really surprised me. It started to hurt my right arm a bit. Bobby fixed my form a few times, but it was still a big jolt every time I shot it.
Machine guns seemed to be more my thing. I really liked that they gun was much lighter and had hardly any kick back.
The staff set up our targets which I couldn’t tell you if I even shot one. ![]()
This oozie machine gun was a blast to shoot!!
Then they brought out on the big guns. (No pun intended) This, my friends, is a Barrett M82A1.
Check out the size of this bullet (left) compared to the other ones.
Most the girls decided to sit this one out. This gun was super loud. Bobby said that this gun can shoot up to 3 miles and is commonly used by the military. It is crazy to see how much power is behind these guns.
The day was such an adrenaline rush, but definitely one I will never forget!! I am hoping to practice shooting a couple different guns at a range in the future.
Galavantier.com is currently running a Summerlove Sweepstakes where fans can unlock and win prize packs for “Liking” Galavantier on Facebook. One of the prizes is a VORE experience for four that mirrors the experience we got the opportunity to take part in.
A big thank you to Galavantier, VORE, 24/7 limos, and Pro Gun Club for such an amazing day!

How did you manage to snap a photo in the five seconds I was holding that shot gun lol. What a fun day! And sorry we had to pass you — at least you drove. I didn’t even try! (I knew the boys would drive faster!)
Haha!! It’s cause I had already given up on mine.
I am glad I tried driving even if I got passed up.
It was a lot of fun!!
RaaaaRRRR!!! You are a she-woman! Go get ‘em tiga’!!! I love this outing..fun, unique and adrenaline pumpin! Super cool…good for you!
Thanks Teri!!
I am so glad I went but gosh I chickened out a bit. I have never had my heart race for so long!!!
I love that you go “pow pow” and pretend to shoot your boyfriend’s car. I would do that too. I hate guns (well, really just scared of them), but fake finger guns are okay. My favorite dog trick of all time is to have a dog sit and then go “pow pow” and pretend to shoot them, at which point they fall down, roll over, and play dead. I taught my roommate in Houston’s dog how to do it. At some point I will work on teaching the Oakley dog…but we are still working on basic skills at the moment.
That looks so fun! I’ve been shooting before, but just at an indoor place. That looks more intense!
I’m thinking only in Vegas could you have an adventure like this! I have been target shooting only once. On my honeymoon in Lanai, Hawaii. How romantic is that?
Actually, it was a lot more fun than I imagined, and I think I might have even out shot my hubby
Oh my goodness, looks like such a wonderful time!
What an adventure! I’m terrified to shoot a gun, but it looks like a blast!
What a fun day!! I’ve never been off-roading, but I did go to a shooting range once on the morning of Craig’s brother’s wedding. I was the wedding photographer, so I was mainly there to take photos, but I did try shooting a couple guns. You’re right, they are heavy!!
So very cool! I’m really impressed – it looks like a great set of activities and some great transport!
And here is to nerds who find matching partners; it’s a great thing
What a fun day! And SO badass. You don’t need a special facial expression; the actions speak for themselves!
When I first started reading this post, I thought the super stretch Hummer limo ride was going to be my favorite part (totally cool, btw). However, I’ll admit, but the end I was ready to go pow pow myself! So glad you has such a fun day! xoxo <3
Thanks Sara!
I am so glad I went. Definitely a bunch of firsts.
That looks like an amazing day! I think I would have been terrified to shoot a gun that large, but it sounds like you had an amazing team to help you through it and safety first! And a stretch Hummer limo is the PERFECT vehicle for such an occasion!
I’m pretty sure I could have been content to just hang out/ride around in that awesome limo all day
The rest of your day looks really neat, though! I can’t figure out if I would have been more afraid to shoot the gun or drive that car (I get freaked out by driving big cars)!
I know what you mean! Although I know they are safe, I was afraid of crashing the whole time!!!
a-yo, from Hidden Hills, California I want to tell you, I enjoyed this blog. However, it is amazing how I ended up on your post. I searched for kidzone party bus on YouTube and ended up on your website. I must say I do like your site and will check back soon. But I need to find the limo I was originally looking for first. Have a lovely day! ciao.
Funny how you found my blog! Thanks for leaving a comment! Hope you return soon!
