Very cool – never heard of that site. What about something as simple as 30 pushups a day for a week?

How about a challenge to include at least one serving of veggies in breakfast or lunch? I feel like a lot of people, myself included, only get their veggies in at dinner!

How about a Green Monster challenge where you have to have one green smoothie a day for 10 days?

My challenge would be to incorporate exercise into small spaces of downtime. For example, while my cup of coffee is brewing in my Keurig machine I try to do squats or leg lifts or while the iron is heating up I do 25 crunches. Things like that. Exercise doesn’t always need to be done at one time. Incorporating small bursts is not only effective, but it is a great use of time that would otherwise have been wasted ‘waiting’ for something.

Being a desk jockey doesn’t mean that you have to sit all the time, and it doesn’t mean that you have to shell out big bucks for a fancy adjustable desk. Just put your keyboard and monitor on a box so that you can stand up at your desk while working.

My challenge would be to practice intuitive eating principles. This involves listening to your body and the hunger cues it gives you, rather than associating food with emotions or activities (eating when stressed out or while watching tv for example). Practicing intuitive eating is challenging but very eye-opening!

How about for people who just can’t seem to get into a routine of exercising every day to have them pick an audiobook that they only listen to while exercising? This worked for me back when I really didn’t want to exercise – I picked a book I really wanted to read and the only way I could read the story is if I was exercising! You could call it the Exercise Your Mind Challenge. :)

Awesome! A challenge could be to incorporate one meal that is cooked with the slow cooker. As many times as possible! Also try to get some form of physical activity done each day; but try doing something different every time so you don’t get bored! (=

A good challenge would be to try a different work 4 days a week for a month whether it’s yoga, running, spinning, Pilates, Zumba, etc to see which workout or fitness technique suits you best.

Love this! I had fun looking through the other comments so far :-) I think a good challenge would be to do something active – even as little as walking in place – during all of the commercials while watching TV. I keep meaning to do this myself!

I have the same slow cooker and I love it!

My challenge would probably be to make some creative exercises that I can do while sitting in class during summer school and in my small amount of time in between class since after school I have work and hw to do until bed time!

Maybe a recipe cook off like many food companies do with their products…only this will be using foods that fit into the diets. This will promote people to get creative and give you lots of new recipes to post on the site! The cook off doesn’t have to be a physical cook off, it could involved people sending in recipes and having some editors test them and vote!

I think a fun summer challenge would be to see how many different COLORS of fruits/veggies one can eat in a day. I also love how vibrant and colorful the produce section is, and then tend to stick with my carrots and oranges…lol.

Thanks, Kristen! Looking forward to the yogurt :) I think a great (and super simple) challenge for SlimKicker would be to start every morning with a walk, even if it’s just 20 minutes. When I studied abroad this past semester, I walked everywhere, including my morning classes, which were about 20 minutes from my apartment. I’m good about exercising/going to the gym, but I think those morning walks are still a great way to start the day off with some fresh air, get the blood flowing, and get in a little extra exercise!

I think a challenge to do a different exercise DVD each day for a week (From Library or Exercise TV/Netflix) Another would be to say (or write) 5- 10 positive things about yourself a day (positive affirmations), especially if you suffer from poor body image.

If the challenge is for individuals, something that I do is reward myself at the end of the week, if I stay at or below my calorie goal each day that week, by indulging in some treat that I really want.

If the challenge is for families, how about dedicating at least one hour each day (or evening) this summer to a fun physical activity? It could be going on a bike ride, or playing games like tag, hopscotch, touch football, etc.

A 25 minute walk every evening!

My idea would be for a substitution challenge! Swap something less healthy out everyday for something more healthy. Take a walk instead of watching TV, have salad for a side instead of fries, cook dinner at home instead of ordering take out, drink water instead of a soda. By changing little things about your day, it eventually will lead to a healthier lifestyle overall. Who knows, after a while you might even forget that you’re doing it!

Has to be a short challenge…too long, people lose focus.
24 days of Slim for your summer Kicks… Kick off your Slim goals with 30 days of Slimkicks! Kicking to be Slimming…a 30 day fitness challenge. That’s all I got…I have to think on this some more. But with such a cute name, you have to find a fun way to incorporate it into the challenge!

My challenge idea is to stop eating red meat for a week, and switch to grass fed meat. Meat is healthy, but not the typical kind we buy in the grocery stores…

Vegan Miam - Travel Vegan June 21, 2012 at 5:30 am

I fly around the world and sometimes, I always think I can lose weight by doing it. I’m a vegan, and sometimes there aren’t a lot of vegan options at the airports so I juice or fruit fast instead. What a great way to slim down just for a day.

The only remarkable Slim-down challenge I can think of is to walk briskly back and forth with two ridiculous, heavy, loaded carry-ons and of course with that gigantic DSLR camera with 70-200mm L with no fancy wheels from the security check-in to your international gate which is usually pretty far at most airports. Imagine being at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, can you imagine running 45 minutes from the security check-in, in natural sweats because some areas at the airport are very humid at the airport to your destination (the GATE)?

*Pants* *Pants *Pants* Here I am. Passport (Check). I’m in the gate! *Sweats* *Drops all the luggages and sits down* * wheres the goddarn fan*
