Yasso Review and Giveaway

May 8, 2012

Hi all!  I have a fun summer treat that I wanted to share with you.  A couple weeks ago, the folks over at Yasso contacted me to review a few of their products.

cheap clomid online

I was definitely intrigued and gladly accepted.  I mean, frozen Greek yogurt bars and smoothies!?!  Sounded delicious..and they are!

2012-05-07_1716

Yasso was started by the duo Amanda and Drew, both former athletes. They wanted to make a good-for-you product that fit into the frozen category.   If you can believe they got a degree from Ice Cream Camp (how cool is that!?!) and finally launched their first products in September 2010.

I had a few coupons but only found the raspberry and blueberry flavors at the store.  I asked the boy if he would also be a taste taster and he happily agreed.  It must be tough to be the girlfriend of a food blogger. Winking smile

The nutrition facts on these bars are pretty great!  Only 70 calories per bar.  And check out the protein… 6 grams!!  That isn’t something you often see in a frozen bar.

IMG_9558

The product is made with fat free milk and fat free Greek yogurt so, of course, that makes it fat free.

IMG_9562

I thought the ingredient list also looked pretty good.   From researching their site, I also found that they use milk with NO rBST.

The boy and I each sampled a bar.  I chose raspberry while he went with blueberry.  We each shared a taste of each other’s as well.  Both flavors were delicious.  I loved that it had a creamy texture, similar to a creamsicle.  I can’t wait to pick up the strawberry flavor too!

We both agreed that it was a great size.  You know sometimes you will buy a lower calorie treat and it is itty bitty??  This wasn’t the case.

I give these bars two big thumbs up and you also have a chance to see what you think!

One lucky reader will receive 3 coupons to get $1.00 off any Yasso novelty product.

NASTY. Bought these at Costco in blueberry and strawberry (2 boxes no less) to hoard for me and my husband for after-our four kids’ bedtime-treat. Ug. I was expecting creamy greek yogurt texture bursting with fresh fruit flavor. Instead it ends up more freezer burnish pepto bismol (no offense pepto) flavored and no where near creamy. I’m totally disappointed. Guess I’ll feed em to the neighborhood kiddos after school tomorrow.
