Fall Must Haves

October 5, 2011

Hi!  Vegas has been having rainy and overcast weather since yesterday and I’m loving it!  What better time to share with you my favorites for fall (and just things I’m loving in general).  I love switching out from cold to hot coffee and tees to sweaters…and eating pumpkin of course. Smile

So without further adieu, here are my favorites for fall:

Modern Slim Leg Corduroy Pants from Ann Taylor Loft

I have two pairs of these cords (navy and gray) that I bought last year.  I wore them All. The. Time.  They fit great and are perfect tucked into boots.

I might be a bit more daring this year and buy this fun pink color.

Trouser Jeans from Ann Taylor Loft

Ok, if you couldn’t tell, Loft is my favorite store.  I love the look of trouser jeans since they are just a tad bit dressier.

I tried this pair on the other week (not buying them ‘til I see a sale Smile), but they are a darling fit.  We’re allowed to wear jeans to work on Fridays, so I know I would get a lot of wear out of them.

Dark nail polish

I recently bought this gray color and I just love it for my nails and toes.  Dark nails colors are perfect for fall.

Oh, and you must get this fabulous top coat by seche vite.  This top coat dries at lightning speed and helps prevent chipping.  My coworkers and I are all obsessed. Open-mouthed smile

Peep toe Mary Jane heels

I bought these at Ross the other week and just love them.  I’ve gotten quite a few compliments on them!

Nude is the “in” color and I think these will transition well into fall with a  pair of burgundy or navy tights.

Organic and Chemical Free Body Wash and Lotion

After reading Lauren’s post over at Foodtrainers about switching over skin and body care products, I was intrigued.  I try to eat organic, whole foods, but never thought about what I was putting ON my body.

There are so many products that contain parabens (can disrupt hormones), fragrances (can trigger allergies), and sodium lauryl/laureth sulphates (detergents that can cause damage to heart, liver, and lungs).

I picked up this body wash and lotion from Whole Foods as a start.

I also loved that these products don’t test on animals.  I am hoping to start switching over more products, including my make up.

I am off to relax and watch Glee.  Has anyone watched the new season?  I’m not sure if I’m loving it as much as previous seasons.  Hopefully it starts to pick up.

Thanks for reading!

I have been thinking that I need some cute corduroy pants in my wardrobe. May have to check out Ann Taylor Loft! :)

I try to use “natural” products on my body, but I know that I have to go through them again and clean out a few that are not truly “natural.”

Definitely let us know what you think about those products! I am interested in switching over a few things myself but keep putting it off for some reason. Need to get in the know! :)

Thanks for the shout out, so proud of you. Ha, I sent my kids to sleepaway camp with those washes (not sure they washed but anyway). Parabens are everywhere and especially worrisome for pregnant women as far as I’m concerned. For fall? Soup, pears and big sweaters.

Loving all your fall picks. I really wish my legs were slimmer so I could actually wear slim leg pants. Do you know how to get smaller thighs and calfs? I posted about what I use in my hair yesterday in case you missed it.

You know, I have larger thighs but I think the slim cords don’t accentuate them. Usually I can’t wear pants like that either.
Thanks for the post! Your hair is gorgeous. :)

Ooh love your fall picks! I am a frequent shopper at Loft too, but always wait for the sales lol.

Ive been on the hunt for some nude heels for a while now, i just have a size 11 foot that makes it a little harder to find a pair. Your Mary-janes are super cute!

I am excited to wear all things fall. Usually in Colorado it’s cold enough for sweaters and boots by now but this year it hasn’t seemed to cool down yet. Still in the 80′s!

I would check a Ross or Marshalls if you have one near you. There were tons of nude shoes…and you can’t beat the price. ;)

I agree! I never buy anything there full price. There clothes are pretty pricey. Plus, they always have good sales.

I love when it gets cool so I can eat hot oats again… I can’t even WANT to eat them in the summer heat! And of course, pumpkin!

Where do you buy that top coat?

Those cords are cute… I’ve never been able to wear skinny leg pants.

I bought it at Sally’s Beauty Supply. It really makes the polish last. :)

I haven’t watched Glee yet – all the episodes are still on my DVR, plan to catch up on Sunday.

I love Ann Taylor – whenever I thrift shop I look for them – I am short and their petites fit perfectly. :D

LOVE the slim leg corduroys! I have an Ann Taylor gift card I have been waiting to use – those could be just the thing! Thanks for the heads up :)

Super fun finds! I love corduroy pants too, and just bought a pair of trouser jeans but haven’t worn them yet as they need to be hemmed. Looks like you’ve been having fun shopping :-)

Those pants are too cute. I LOVE wearing corduroys in the Fall. I really like your nude heels. I haven’t been daring enough to buy any yet but I think yours may have inspired me!

I know I’m a food blogger but this post was so wonderful! I love fashion and “living” tips too- we should all start a magazine on our own- how fun would that be?! I mean essentially we already have with the foodbuzz community kind of but..

I saw a pair of courdoroy (sp?) pants that I liked but didn’t bite the bullet – I didn’t know if I was ahead of the trend or past the trend so I didn’t want to be out-of-style. haha. Those red ones are cute! I love Loft as well.

I absolutely love LOFT! I’m very lucky that I have one 5 minutes from my house. I’ve been looking for skinny cords for fall, I’ll have to go check these out :)

It will be somewhat interesting this season if Mercedes does indeed keep up with the new attitude. Don’t know why they needed to throw in a 3rd candidate for president. I’m with you…Glee needs to pick it up.

I went up a size in the last three months and need some new pants to accomodate my fuller hips. I used to love Anne Taylor but haven’t shopped there in 4 years. I’ll check them out this next month…

Things I miss from the US include access to a wide selection of products. I would make a saturday of Whole Foods and Target and Cost Plus, I think!

Love those trousers!! And yeah, definitely watching this season of Glee. I am definitely liking it so far, though!

I can’t believe how chilly it’s getting! I just need to invest in some new clothes period. I think everything I have is upwards of 3 years old lol I certainly got a wake up call from Lauren’s post too and pretty much everything I have has parabens in it! yikes. How is that lotion from whole foods? Is it cheaper than that other one she recommended? That stuff is pricey!

Allison @ PickyEatingRD October 7, 2011 at 3:42 am

I love nude pumps! They do go with just about everything and they also make your legs look longer in a dress or skirt. As a short-legged girl this is crucial!
