Can I just tell you about the most ammaazing breakfast I had this morning. It felt so decadent for a Tuesday. It got my morning off on the right foot indeed. Cinnamon Bread French Toast.
I love French toast. It’s by far one of favorite breakfast foods. Growing up, my mom would make it for us as a treat on the weekends. For some reason, living on my own, I don’t think I’ve made it once. Crazy right!?!
I decided that today was a French toast kind of day. But this French toast was special..and oh so delicious.
Lazy Girls Cinnamon Bread French Toast (courtesy of Healthy Tipping Point)
- Four pieces of whole wheat bread
- 3 eggs
- 1.5 tablespoon of
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 1.5 tablespoon brown sugar
Heat griddle and grease with butter or cooking spray. Beat eggs in a shallow bowl.
Dip each side of each toast into egg, as you normally would for French toast and place on griddle (I used a pan).
Meanwhile, combine remaining ingredients in small, microwaveable bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, stir thoroughly.
Flip toast and pour sugar mixture on cooked top of two of the toasts.
Wait thirty seconds and then put un-sugared toasts on top of the sugared toasts. Plate and serve.
Something about the warm gooey center that had me. Just like a cinnamon roll!
Seriously, you need to make this now. Maybe even for dinner!
Other Swanky Scoop:
-Today at work, we celebrated a coworker’s birthday and (sadly) another coworker’s going away.
We ordered in Jason’s Deli cause we’re all obsessed with their nutty mixed up salad.
My old coworker came in to visit and made chocolate cookies. Maybe I shouldn’t have had such a decadent breakfast.
-Last chance to enter the Pure Alaska Salmon Company giveaway! I’ll be announcing the winner on Thursday. Yay!
