Happy Sunday!
I have one more vacation day tomorrow! Yippee! I have a feeling it might be difficult getting back into the swing of work come Tuesday.
When we were done with the sun yesterday, we got ready for a fun girl’s dinner. I decided to bring my friend to Milo’s Wine Cellar up in Boulder City.
I’ve been there once before, and have been dying to go back. The baked brie was calling my name. ![]()
This weather was perfect, so we grabbed a table outside.
I ordered the flight to go with my meal. With suggestions from the waitress, I decided on three fab wines.
My wine selections included the Mirth Chardonnay (WA), Wild Rock Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand), and Bodegas Juan Gil Monastrell (Spain).
Although I liked them all, I just loved the Wild Rock Sauvignon Blanc. Very light and refreshing.
Let’s talk about the food! Everyone loved the items they ordered. Missy and I shared the hummus platter with naan, fresh out of the oven.
As I said, I was on a mission to order the baked brie.
This dish is fantastic. It’s covered with candied fruit and dried nuts.
As if it couldn’t get any better, it’s served up with apples, grapes, and ciabatta bread.
I can’t say enough about how much I love this. But when can you go wrong with brie? ![]()
We had fantastic conversation (including many laughs about the Bridesmaids movie), good food, and delicious wine. What else could you want in a Saturday night?
Today was filled with more pool time and a bit of shopping. Check out the cute jeans I scored at J Crew! My cousin works at the outlet and got me a great deal.
Hope you had a fabulous weekend! I’ll be back to my regular eating and workouts come next week. Thanks for reading!
What’s your favorite cheese? Have you ever had baked brie?

Funny… brie is one of the very, very few cheeses I don’t automatically… UNLESS it’s baked. And then I’m sold. My aunt does a version with sauteed red bell peppers and walnuts… too die for good. Need to hunt up that recipe now that I think about it. Thanks for the reminder!
Whoops. That should’ve said “don’t automatically ‘love’”
That sounds excellent!
If you love baked brie (I do) try Ina Garten’s baked fontina. Make sure you have company around because it’s that good. I am a Sauvignon Blanc girl will have to look for the one you enjoyed.
I love Ina! I will have to look for that recipe. Thanks!
oh that baked brie does look heavenly!
I absolutely LOVE baked brie! If you are ever looking for me at a Christmas party, just ask where the baked brie is set out because I will definitely be parked there
Haha! Same for me!
I’ve never been a brie fan. I love smoked gouda. YUM.
I am not the biggest fan of baked brie.
I love gouda, fontina, swiss and a really good cheddar – I’m boring I guess!
Those jeans look adorable. What a score! I hope you’re enjoying your vaca day.
I am a fan of practically any cheese especially when it is melted. Then add in the bread and I am in heaven!
Baked ANY cheese is amazing! And I “heart” wine flights! Isn’t it fun to try little bits of new wines! Hope you are enjoying your last vacation day!!!
Yeah, I love the flights! Thanks so much!
baked brie? YUM. I love everything on your plates… oh and definitely the wine!
Thanks for stopping by!
Everything was excellent!
I don’t think I’ve ever met a cheese I didn’t like. Baked brie is one of my favorites!
Great jeans!
Have a great week!
I have never even had brie before! Can you believe that. Maybe I need to jump on the bandwagon and give it a try. It looks delish!
xo
oh wow great eats I am to dip those apples in the Brie
have a fab week too
Wine looks yum and the brie looks absolutely amazing!!
I’ve never baked a brie, myself, but I’ve enjoyed it when others have done it—as long as they don’t go overboard on the sweetness, that is. I like the tang of brie and sugar just covers that up.
Brie holds a special place in my heart (probably trying to clog it, but I FORGIVE!), and a close second is always an NZ Sav blanc. Fabulous food!
Haha! Yes, it holds a special place in my heart! Soo delicious!
That Brie looks REDICULOUSLY good!!!! nom nom nom!!! I want that so bad right now! lol!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Baked brie is so delish! Love it! My favorite cheese is anything strong like goat cheese. Just pairs so well with anything. Have a great last couple of days on your vaca!
I LOVE baked brie! Especially with something sweet like fruit and something crunchy like nuts. I can tell you like it, too – your title says it all!
We actually just made baked brie last week (with a store bought puff pastry). I enjoyed it with fig jam and it was out of this world!
I hope your first day back at work was great! Have a wonderful rest of your week, Kristen!
I, too, heart baked brie, and ended up ordering it on my birthday dinner this weekend as well. Once, I was at a restaurant that prepared a deep fried camembert wheel that was also incredible (I couldn’t resist ordering it, clearly). But yes, baked brie = loveliness.
Brie is my favorite food! Really, it has been for years.
I love it with nuts and dried fruit on top just like your was.
Everytime I make this at one of my gatherings, people swoon too. It’s perfect in the winter.
Pool time sounds so lovely!
I too love baked brie, and would like to know if there are any other places in and around Las Vegas that have anything close to the one you described at Milo’s Cellar.
Hi Jerry! I haven’t been but I have heard the baked brie at Grape Street is tasty! I’d love to know if you come across anything good!
