Hi all!
Are you enjoying the long weekend? So nice to have an extra day off! Even better than that, I’m only working one day next week since my friend is coming to visit. Short week for sure!
I started my usual Saturday off with a 4 miler on pittman wash. Running keeps getting easier, and I only had to walk once. The only problem was the wind. It was ridiculous! And it’s still windy today! What’s the deal with this crazy Vegas weather in June!?!
I met friends for book club later in the afternoon to discuss The Other Queen. I’m the worst member of book club, I tell ya! I didn’t even attempt to get the book this time around. ![]()
I’ve just had so much going on, I had a feeling I might not get to it. I always love going, even if just to catch up with friends. Since I was a slacker this month and didn’t read the book, here’s a quick synopsis courtesy of wikipedia.
“It covers the period of Mary, Queen of Scots’ long imprisonment in England. The story is told from three points of view: Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots; Elizabeth Talbot, Countess of Shrewsbury, and also known as Bess of Hardwick; and George Talbot, the 6th Earl of Shrewsbury.”
I couldn’t wait to show book club what I bought on sale the other day. Warning..nerd alert. ![]()
I thought this was too cute to not buy! You can fill out books you’ve read (check out our list here), contacts, book suggestions, etc.
We decided to venture out and had book club at Borders. I had an iced coffee.
Next month’s read is Mistress of the Art of Death by Anaha Franklin.
Later in the evening, I met a couple friends at my parents for a bbq. Although I was pretty hungry, I tried to limit snacking. It was difficult if you see the spread…
As much will power I had, I just couldn’t resist the sangria.
It was soo good! I had a few small glasses throughout the night.
Too much good food! ![]()
My mom made a new Giada recipe for grilled artichokes. They were delicious!
Here is a shot of my plate. Plus I had a mini corn on my cob.
For dessert, I had a teeny slice of cake and strawberries with fruit dip.
I got to spend the whole Saturday with family and friends which is such a treat!
More girl time this afternoon. I’m meeting my friend Kristen for a pedicure in a bit. ![]()
Hopefully you also have the day off work tomorrow!
What are your plans for Memorial Day?
My aunt and I are going hiking. Hopefully the wind dies down. Fingers crossed.

Have fun hiking!
We just came back from a mini trip to Lake Tahoe and are invited to a BBQ.
So glad the running is getting easier. Looks like another good weekend!
We just started a book club as well so I was looking through the list on your blog for future suggestions – thanks for posting them!
It’s so much fun! Let me know if you have any great reads that you recommend!
Wow! Looks like you are having a fabulous weekend. All the food looks absolutely amazing. I love your outfit and definitely wish I was as tiny as you are!
xo
Sangria is so tempting…although some places tastes like hopped up juice…
And I am envious of your book club. We just read the Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother book…very interesting.
Hey, I checked out your article. Super fun for you and thanks for sharing!
