Good evening!
I loved your comments from today’s post. Glad to know I’m not alone. Some of my favorites…
You know you’re a blogger when…
- Your family waits to start eating until after you’ve taken pictures of your food and theirs!
- You never eat a hot meal anymore because you were too busy taking pictures of it!
- You “style” your food before you eat it.
Hysterical…and so true! ![]()
Although, we are in the middle of May, it’s never to late to spread the word about Meatless May. Erin over at The Healthy Apron wanted to get the word out to do more meatless meals. Such a great idea! Not only is it cost effective, but eating less meat is better for your health and the environment. Who wants in?
Although I’m not a vegetarian, I try to keep my consumption of meat to a minimum. I even subscribed to Vegetarian Times Magazine. They have some great recipe ideas.
My dinner tonight is a meatless creation. It actually was inspired by the delicious Thai Tofu pizza I made a while back.
BBQ Tofu Pizza
Ingredients:
- ¼ block extra firm tofu (already pressed)
- 3 tablespoons BBQ sauce (or enough to cover crust)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- ¼ onion (sliced)
Directions:
(I pre-baked my pizza dough since I have issues getting a thoroughly cooked pizza)
Crumble tofu and marinate with bbq sauce. Sauté in pan until browned.
Spread BBQ sauce onto crust.
Top with tofu…
cheese…
and onion.
Bake as recommended on pizza crust package.
Voila!
This was absolutely delicious!
I didn’t go too crazy with the tofu since I wasn’t sure how it would taste. Happy to report that it ended up working out great. Tofu picks up the flavor of whatever you cook it in. Love that!
Do you try to limit your meat consumption? What are your favorite meat substitutions?
I never thought I would say this, but I love tofu! It really is so versatile (and inexpensive).

oh that pizza looks soooo good! I would never think to make this with tofu!
I loved the idea of getting a bit more protein on their versus doing pepperoni, sausage, etc.
Looks delish. My hubby loves bbq and hot sauce on hit pizzas. Since I am vegetarian, I guess you could say I always limit my meat consumption
You have meatless may all year round.
Thanks for the support! This pizza look great!
I’m very limited with my meat substitutes when I am in Alaska, and have no experience with tofu. However, I do like to have turkey in all of my traditional “meat” dishes – lasagna, hot dogs, and hamburgers.
