A Weekend of Celebrations

March 20, 2011

Hi all!  Wow, what a wonderful weekend!  It started a bit early…Thursday to be exact.  As I mentioned, I went to a pub crawl downtown at Fremont Street Experience.  We were decked out in our finest green duds!

There was green everywhere!  I was a bad blogger and didn’t snap many pics.  Highlights included a yummy drink of Jameson and Ginger Ale!  Never thought I would be one to like whiskey.

They had entertainment at every turn, including a U2 cover band.  They were pretty good.

Let’s get to the real good stuff.  My spa day at the M Resort with my sister.  Let me tell you that I am planning my next trip back there.  It was amazing!

Since we booked a massage, you are able to use the spa amenities all day, including the gym.  Everything you could think of, they had.  Kettlebells, bosu, stair climber, treadmill, free weights.  I could go on.  This is my kind of gym.

Inside the spa, they had two jacuzzis along with a sauna.  They served fresh fruit and juice drinks.  I felt like a princess!  Open-mouthed smile

As if the enjoying what the spa offered wasn’t lovely enough, you also get free access to the pool.  The sun was out, so we took advantage of the weather and layed out for a bit.

We ordered lunch out at the pool.  I had a tomato, mozzarella, and pesto sammy.  The sandwich was just ok, but I did love the fries and pickle!

Check out that white skin!  Eek!

After our massages, (which were fantastic) we showered and got ready for dinner at Veloce

The restaurant sits at the top of the hotel and has a great view of the pool.

I started my night with a fruity cocktail.  A bit sweet, but very delicious!

We ordered a couple sushi rolls and sides.  I liked the sides but didn’t love the roll I ordered.

They didn’t disappoint with dessert.  The waitress brought out a special birthday dessert.  I just love chocolate covered strawberries!

Saturday, I had a birthday celebration with my family.  I always enjoy getting to see my family and catch up.

The food was amazing!

My plate included baked ziti, salad, green beans, and a cheese bread stick.

My mom doesn’t make baked ziti that often and I really enjoyed it!

Of course there was cake!

The family decided only to put on a few candles since 27 candles would have probably filled the whole cake.  Sad smile

I made sure to make a good wish!

How was your weekend?  Did you celebrate St. Patty’s Day?

happy birthday, you should feel like a princess on your bday. I bet my white-ass skin is lighter than yours this time of year.

Happy Birthday! Looks like a great weekend with lots going on. I am so jealous of the warm weather to be able to sit out. Only jealous because I miss it. It has gotten chilly here for some reason and more rainy than it has been all year. Glad you had a nice time.

We went to dinner for St. Patty’s day.

Happy belated birthday! It looks like you had a wonderful time! The food at your family birthday celebration looked delicious!

Had an Irish beer on St. Patty’s Day. Nothing too crazy. This weekend was quite fun though. A good friend of mine came to visit and I got to show her some of my favorite eats in Portland. Apparently bars and restaurants here have awesome deals.

Getting OVER your 20s is the best releasing of all the pressure that decade brings…how come you always look so amazing alive and well equipped with friends and love? Your life is so full, you are rich beyond measure.
Celebrating all that you are, may you open up to all that you may want to receive.
