Visit, Eat, Repeat

March 14, 2011

Hi all!  I am so glad everyone enjoyed my photography post.  I will get another one together for ya!

Although this weekend flew by, knowing I only have to work 2 days this week makes me not too sad it’s coming to an end.  My grandma is in town, so Saturday and Sunday were spent catching up.

Saturday

While my grandma went to a show with friends, I went to my friend’s fiancé’s birthday party.  My friend did a Toy Story theme.  Too cute!

I had a Carne Asada taco and a Bud Light.  Perfect combo in my opinion.

My friend and I and her adorable dog!

It was so great to catch up with her!  (I didn’t know too many people so I felt a bit silly taking lots of pics.)

Sunday

We decided to take my grandma to the M Resort (great hotel off the strip) for gambling and a early dinner.  Although I live in Vegas, I am not much of the gambler…but my grandma loves to.

My grandma, me , and my sister.

We decided on Hash House A Go Go for dinner.  This place is known for their GINORMOUS portions.  They had walls dedicated to the celebs that have eaten there.

IMG_1362

It included Chelsea Clinton, Neil Patrick Harris, and Adam Richman from Man Vs. Food.  Love that show!

My mom found this when we first sat down.  Free drink for sending out a tweet.

I am a sucker for free stuff so you might have noticed this little tweet.

I scored a free Vanilla Soda!  It was delicious, and we all had a taste.

For my entrée, I decided on the Griddled Portabello Mushroom Sandwich with fries on the side.

IMG_1368

Served on a hot bun with roasted red peppers, basil pesto, tomato, lettuce, and goat cheese.

IMG_1380

Can I just say, HOLY SANDWICH!

IMG_1383

Let me tell you, it did not disappoint!  Here is the damage.

IMG_1393

Since we were blown away with the portions, I had to share what everyone else ordered.

So much food so we had to take it to go.  And yes, they give you a pizza box for the pancake.  Winking smile

I am watching a movie and relaxing a bit before work!  Thanks for reading!

How was your weekend?  Do share!

Glad you got to spend time with your grandma. The dinner portions look indeed huge. I bet I would have loved the portobello burger! :)

The weather was nice here, and we spent a lot of time outside at the Farmers’ Market, the park, and on a walk.

Have a great week!

Those portions were insane, well done bagging it up. You’re lucky to be able to spend time with your grandmother.

I was just thinking about portobello sandwiches last night. It’s been ages since I’ve had one or made one. Looks like you had a pretty good weekend!

Those are huge meals! So lucky you are able to spend time with your grandma – savor every minute!

I was in North Carolina with my parents for the weekend – it was nice visiting with them for a few days!

Wow! Those are some big portions (especially the pancake!). Looks like an awesome weekend :)

Look at that pancake! How do they flip it?!

Knowing me, I had to ask. The waitress said they use to large spatulas and flip it in towards them. I still don’t know how they manage to not break it.

A pizza box for the pancake?! That’s insane! But the food does look delicious!

As far as food goes this weekend I went out to brunch this weekend and it was quite delicious! My friend and I shared a black bean chili scramble and cinnamon raisin french toast. Good thing I ran a 8k race this weekend! :)

Sounds like a wonderful time! And wow that food looks amazing!! It’s probably a good thing that you’re not much of a gambler since you live in Vegas…I don’t know what I’d do if I was there…go bankrupt probably.

Oh gosh I didn’t know you lived in vegas (or maybe I did and forget). My parents have a vacation home in Aliante. I love visiting!! I will have to check this place out next time I go!

I love the pic of you, your sis and your grandma… it’s like a round of “one of these things is not like the others!” :) Well, in colouring, anyway.

Those portions are insane. Just insane. Thanks for another round of “Eating Vegas Vicariously!”

So jealous, I miss Hash House. Ryan used to live behind it in Sahara West apts and we loved being able to walk there for a weekend breakfast. Sammy’s is good too and I assume you have eaten there. Looks like you had a nice weekend.

Oh wow, that burger looks amazing!!! I love that Man Vs. Food visited this place, too. No matter what people say, I enjoy the show, and I say if a guy has a bottomless pit for a stomach, good for him! Too bad it ain’t true for the rest of us…it looks like you barely made a dent to the meal! I wonder how far I can go? Tee hee.
