We had our monthly book club on Saturday.  This month’s book was the next in the series…The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larsson.  Here is the post for the first book in the series.

We decided to go with salad bar since it was a hit last time.

Also, some yummy brie and crackers.

My salad with all the fixins…spinach, tomatoes, pine nuts, garbanzo beans, feta cheese, and a pepperoncini.  Boy those peppers are spicy!!

IMG_0331

With a creamy greek dressing!  Holy yum!!

Someone also brought lasagna and I had a slice.  I was too busy chatting (and eating) to take a picture I guess.

We rented the movie to go along with our book.  I didn’t really like this movie as much as the first one.  (Ok, I didn’t read either books..I know, I know.  I just couldn’t get through them.)  One of my friends got the audio books. I am thinking I should try that if I am having a difficult time.

During the movie, my sister made Packer’s themed chocolate covered oreos for the game that night.  Didn’t they turn out cute!?

They ended up being a hit at her friend’s house!

We decided to make use of the leftover chocolate.  Oh yeah, we went there…chocolate covered popcorn.

It was the perfect combination of salty and sweet!

We had so many giggles.  It was one of the funnest book clubs!

We decided on Pride and Prejudice with Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith for next month’s book.  Don’t worry, I do plan on reading this one.  I already ordered my copy on Abebooks!

Today, I spent the afternoon with a good friend of mine.  She asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding!  I am so excited!  I am actually going to be a bridesmaid in four upcoming weddings!  :)

Hope you are having a great weekend!  What is your favorite book?  Do you ever skip out on reading books and just watch the movie version?

My favorite larabar is the Coconut Cream one, it’s so good! Cherry is a close second.

I have way too many favorite books, I can’t pick just one! I really did enjoy the whole Dragon Tattoo series, and I also liked the movies. I can’t wait for the American version of the movies to come out – Daniel Craig is going to be great in them!

I bought that Pride and Prejudice and Zombies for my sister, I think she liked it. I loved the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and the second book. I liked the first movie better than the second. I am about 100 pages in to the third book now.

Ah, so YOU won Nicole’s Larabar giveaway – jealous! Just kiddin’ ;) Did you get a chance to try those new chocolate chip flavors at FNCE? They’re fabulous!

Those chocolate-covered Oreos are just too funny! Good idea with the chocolate-covered popcorn – the green color really spices it up, I think :P I have a copy of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, but I haven’t read it yet. Can’t wait to see what you think! :)

I’m glad you got the Larabars! That’s my favorite flavor, too! Mmmm!!! :)

The popcorn looks soooo good! I’ve never tried flavored popcorn making — I should add it to the list :)

I usually like to read the book before I watch the movie. I tried reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, but I couldn’t get through it either. Think I’ll try one more time.

Love the Packers oreos! But they would be better if they were black and yellow. :)

Looks like a fabulous time! My mum always makes chocolate covered popcorn, but I don’t like it at all. When I was in college everyone went nuts over it… friends even gave my mum money when she showed up with some or mailed it….. crazy!
