To Seattle and Back

January 4, 2011

Hi guys!  I am a little late in saying this, but Happy New Year!!  I hope you had a safe and happy one.  My New Year’s Eve was so much fun!! I got in super late last night so being at work this morning (after having a week and a half off) was a bit of a struggle.

Like I had mentioned, I was in Seattle for most the weekend.  My New Year’s Eve actually was in Olympia where my friend lives.  We got all dressed up in our New Years finest.

The club we went to had great music and we danced (and drank) the night away!!

IMG_7242

We, of course, got a bit silly as the night went on!

IMG_7246

Since we drank the night away, Saturday was a day spent in pj’s watching reruns of Dexter.

I don’t have Showtime so I have never watched the show.  It is super addicting!!  Note to self: must rent all of the seasons now that I am back.  Do you watch Dexter?

We headed back to Seattle and I got to experience some of the local eats.  For a post-New Year’s dinner, we ate at Dick’s Drive In.

Nothing beats a good burger, fries, and milkshake, don’t you think?

Sunday, we made a stop at Cupcake Royale.  They have some of the best cupcakes in Seattle.  PS. I just love this neighborhood!

IMG_7270

There were so many yummy cupcakes, it was hard to choose.

IMG_7265

I went with the salted caramel cupcake!  It was delish!

Sunday before I left, my friend and I met up with a friend of hers to tailgate for the Seattle Seahawks football game.  This was such a blast!  I have only tailgated at college games and it was taken to a whole new level!

IMG_7292

Her friend’s dad has a decked out Seahawks RV. It was awesome!

IMG_7286

This RV was quite stylish!

IMG_7272

They even won a trophy for best Seahawks RV!

IMG_7290

What would a tailgate be without food!

I had such a great weekend!  It is nice to get out of town, even if for a few days!  I am already thinking about planning out my next trip!

How was your weekend? What did you do for New Year’s Eve?

I love Dexter!!! It’s one of my favorite shows for sure. I’ve watched seasons 1-4, but have to wait until the current season is on DVD before I can watch it. It’s so hard to wait!

I love living in Seattle, there’s so much to see and do!

On New Year’s Eve I went to a party at a friend’s house in Seattle; they have a view of the Space Needle so we were able to watch the fireworks.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your dress! Where did you get it!? Seattle looks like a great time. I’ve never been, but it’s my top destination in the US I want to go to. My best friend in grad school was from Seattle and was a HUGE Seahawks fan. He always said they were the best football games – guess he was right :)

You were rocking my old hood before I moved to Germany. I LOVE Seattle culture and vibe, (PLUS!) PCC natural foods, and had cupcake royal for celebrations. Are you always so bright and chipper? Seriously, I feel as if you are a person who has a great balance in her life: book clubs, eats, family, physical energy and vibrancy, work, friends, and FUN….

Sounds like you had a great time in Seattle! Seattle is such a fun city, and it looks like you took great advantage of it :) You look super cute in that dress, and I love the glasses! That cupcake looks so delicious – I really like the combo of caramel and salt, so I can imagine how good that must have tasted.

I’ve never seen Dexter, but people keep telling me how much they love it. I should really check it out – maybe when I have more time!

Have a great end of your week, Kristen!
